Description: Card of 30 antique clothing buttons -- all are made of black glass. They were mostly produced during the antique era of the 1800s or early 1990s -- although there may a few vintage examples from the early to mid 1900s. This card features a nice variety of styles, including: lusters, art deco, lacy glass, pictorial, molded, tile, impressed, OME, realistic, painted, faux fabric, etched and more. There are some very nice buttons on this card. Please refer to the ruler pictured in the image for the exact sizes of the buttons. Overall condition: Good to Solid VG+..... The tile button has two very noticeable chips at the corners, so please don't figure much value for this one. The button at the center has a chip on the bottom edge, but this likely occurred during production, as the gold detailing was painted over it. Some of the other buttons may have have light surface wear or small dings around the edges -- but I have noticed no more larger chips, cracks, or other more serious flaws. The group is overall in very nice shape and the card will display quite well. My mom -- Nancy Moran -- was a longtime member of the National Button Society, plus was active in several local button clubs in New York. She is downsizing, so I am helping her sell some of her collection. But I am not familiar with all the terminology and intricacies of button collecting. I try to use various notes she left with the buttons to describe them to the best of my ability, but understand that any terms I use in describing these items, are not terms I am familiar or experienced with. I am also not knowledgeable on the hobby criteria in condition grading -- so I use my condition grades in a commonsense manner -- as if grading any collectible -- they are not based on any hobby standards.
