Description: This week I'm offering a variety of collectibles, including trading cards as well as comics. In the late Sixties and early Seventies, several fanzines reprinted popular dramatic comic strips showcasing outstanding art. Foremost among these was Cartoonist Showcase, a large (8 1/2 x 11) fanzine printed on top-quality paper, devoted to reprinting long continuous runs of such well-illustrated strips as Tarzan, Modesty Blaise, and Secret Agent Corrigan. The magazine was published with a limited print run of only 500 copies, so every copy is a collectors' item!! Sadly, the magazine came to an end in 1972 after twelve issues, due to the death of the publisher/editor, Ed Aprill. Needless to say, copies are tough to come by and are sought-after by fans of dramatic newspaper strips! Here I have issue #11, dated February 1971. It's 84 pages long, and it features James Bond by Horak, Tarzan by Russ Manning, and Secret Agent Corrigan by Al Williamson. The magazine is in outstanding condition (see scans for condition). This would be an outstanding addition to any collection! Shipping will be combined for multiple purchases. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
