Cast Iron Creedmoor Mechanical Coin Bank - J.& E. Stevens - Antique Toy

Description: I am pleased to offer an antique Creedmoor Mechanical Bank by J & E Stevens Co. The front rock of the piece is marked "Creedmoor Bank, Pat. May 1877". To operate, the lever is set back to position, and the shooter's head bows as if taking aim. Coin is then placed on top of gun. The shooter's foot acts as a trigger and when pressed, releases the mechanism. The coin is then shot into target on tree trunk, and the shooter raises his head to normal position. There is a bell inside and at the top of the tree, that rings when coin strikes it. This version of the bank features the shooter in a red coat and hat with gray colored trousers. Measures 10" in length and stands 6 1/4" high. Has the original Steven's-style trap in bottom marked "Pat. Feb 2, 1875". Item is in excellent condition and displays very well. Mechanism works properly and bell rings when coin reaches the inside of the tree trunk. This piece would make a fine addition to any collection!Condition:Seems to all good with a few paint nicks and blemishes. Looks to be original paint.
