Fitzhugh, 1831-1914, resided in Minnesota for several years just after the war and it was in St. Paul that this 1866 CdV was taken. Fitzhugh was promoted from the ranks and served as AAG for Stuart’s Cavalry Division. He was captured on the Orange Plank Road on 17 August 1862, and passed through Richmond with Belle Boyd, both recently exchanged, on 3 September. As a Major he later served as AAG for Jenkin’s Cavalry Division, and as a Colonel as Chief QM for the Army of Northern Virginia’s Cavalry Corps. Fitzhugh owned property in Florida where he served as Justice of the Peace in St. John’s County in the 1880s. Shipping with tracking $5.
