Marked 3/16" and "No. 123" on the heel, "Chapin Stephens Union Factory" and "Hammacher, Schlemmer & Co" on the toe, circa 1855-1900. Nice boxing. The only apology is a small chip behind the mouth. Minor deficiencies - owner's initials, nicks, etc. GOOD MINUS: 50-65% of original finish remaining. Has seen hard use, but remains serviceable. Scratches, nicks, dents, cracks, chips, improper replacement parts. FAIR: 25-50% of original finish remaining. Heavy wear and rust. Some parts are broken, missing, or improper - serious flaws.
