Description: This is a framed print of Charles Dana Gibson's Mr. Pickwick's Famous Oration. The print is signed by the artist and was produced in 1897 by R.H. Russell. Image from The People of Dickens. Frame is approx 19” x 13.5”. This print has a live pencil signature matching internet examples of Gibson’s signature. It was purchased with a large lot from a print seller estate. No details or formal authentication was with this. Please inspect and decide for yourself. The print is in very good shape, extremely slight discoloration from age as shown in the pictures. The print is on heavy card stock, not paper. Lithography impressions present and shown in pix. I removed this print to verify the signature was not printed and to clean the glass. The original backing was returned with new points and framers tape to keep it clean. Pictures of each step included. The frame has wear as shown. This is a sweet piece, I’d keep it if I didn’t already have a hand drawn and signed Gibson girl (read it and weep).
