Charles Dickens Artist-Signed Limited First Ed. Dombey and Son 1957 + Slipcase

Description: Five images of this two-volume, artist-signed, limited-edition pair are shown below; they are #980 of 1,500 copies printed and are signed by the artist on the limitation page of Volume II (i.e., please see image #1 below). This item is: Dombey and Son, by Charles Dickens, Published by The Limited Editions Club, 1957, first edition thus (i.e., this is the first edition with these illustrations). Each book measures 10" x 6 3/4"; there are 798 pages. There is some fading to the spines (i.e., please see image #5 below); the books are in otherwise Near Fine condition--as good as new books in a bookstore. There are 12, full-page color illustrations by Henry Pitz; they are in Fine condition and blank on the reverse. Pitz also has done a different, small, line drawings to introduce each of the 62 chapters (e.g., image #3 below). He also has fully decorated the endpapers and the slipcase, which is present in Very Good condition with a 2" separation along one edge and with some additional gentle wear.
