Description: CHELSEA F.C - ROY BENTLEY, TOMMY DOCHERTY & JOSE MOURINHO ORIGINAL SIGNED FOOTBALL FIRST DAY COVER Roy Thomas Frank Bentley (17th May 1924 – 20th April 2018) was an English football player and manager. A former forward, Bentley played 367 games for Chelsea and captained the club to their first League Championship in the 1954-55 season. He also won 12 international caps for England between 1949 and 1955. Thomas Henderson Docherty (24th April 1928 – 31st December 2020), commonly known as The Doc, was a Scottish football player and manager. Docherty played for several clubs, most notably Preston North End, and represented Scotland 25 times between 1951 and 1959. He then managed a total of 13 clubs between 1961 and 1988, as well as the Scottish national team. In February 1961, Docherty was offered the post of player-coach of Chelsea, and remained as manager until 1967. During his first year in charge, he sold many of the club's older players and brought in new ones. He also changed the club's home colours, switching from white shorts to blue shorts, the combination that remains as of 2022. The team, nicknamed "Docherty's Diamonds", achieved promotion back to Division One in their first attempt and finished fifth the following year. In 1964-65, Chelsea won the League Cup in April with an aggregate win over Leicester City, but in the F.A Cup were beaten 2–0 in the semi-final by eventual winners Liverpool. José Mário dos Santos Mourinho Félix (born 26th January 1963), is a Portuguese professional football manager and former player. Once dubbed "The Special One" by the British media, Mourinho is one of the most decorated managers ever and is widely considered to be among the greatest managers of all time. In 2004 he moved to England to manage Chelsea, with the club, he won two Premier League titles, an F.A Cup and two League Cups in his three seasons at the club, before he departed in 2007 to Real Madrid, amid reports of disagreements with club owner Roman Abramovich. Mourinho left Real Madrid in 2013 and re-joined Chelsea, where he won another League Title and League Cup, but was dismissed again in 2015 after a poor run of results.
