Description: This is a custom 12" figure of fictional western TV character, Cheyenne Bodie from the tv show "Cheyenne". Cheyenne was a large cowboy with a gentle personality and disposition that wanders the old West. Cheyenne Bodie was played by Clint Walker. Cheyenne was the first hour long western tv series. The series was also the first hour long dramatic series of any kind that lasted for more than one season. The series featured 108 black and white episodes and ran from 1955 to 1962 on ABC. Cheyenne's family was killed by an unknown band of Indians when he was about 10 years old. He was found by Cheyenne Indians and raised by them until he was 18. Bodie always had an understanding and respect for the Native Americans he would encounter on his travels. Many of the people Cheyenne would meet would be in trouble. and Cheyenne would help. Though slow to anger, the big cowboy was a fighting man and skilled with most any weapon. Cheyenne always fought on the side of justice, sometimes as a government agent, sheriff, or marshal. Cheyenne was a skilled guide, tracker, and knew cattle and horses. This helped him fit into a variety of jobs as he wandered the West. Cheyenne Bodie crossed paths with a lot of interesting characters throughout his travels and the story quality of this series was very good. This was one of the coolest shows on tv when it was on. you can sometimes find this series on dvd or channels that run old westerns or tv series. While this figure does not look exactly like the character or the actor, there is a nice resemblance.
