Description: GB STRIKE MAIL - CINDERELLA ISSUES - SEE SCAN AND TITLE IN JANUARY - FEBRUARY 1971, BRITISH POSTAL WORKERS WERE ON STRIKE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, PRIVATE COMPANIES WERE AUTHORISED BY THE POST OFFICE DURING THIS PERIOD TO COLLECT AND DELIVER MAIL, STAMPS OF VARYING QUALITY WERE ISSUED, SOME WERE PERFORATED BUT THE MAJORITY WERE IMPERF AND CUT VERY ROUGHLY AS ISSUED, PRINT AND DESIGN QUALITY ALSO LEFT A LOT TO BE DESIRED - SOME VERY PROFESSIONAL AND OTHERS - I LEAVE YOU TO DECIDE !! DURING THIS PERIOD, GREAT BRITAIN WAS DUE TO CONVERT TO A DECIMAL CURRENCY ON 15 FEBRUARY, HENCE SOME ISSUES HAD DUAL STERLING AND DECIMAL VALUES. THESE COMPANIES, ALTHOUGH AUTHORISED BY THE BRITISH POST OFFICE, WERE NOT RECOGNISED , PRESUMABLY UNDER UPU RULES, FOR ITEMS BEING DELIVERED OVERSEAS, HENCE ANY ITEM FOR DELIVERY OUTSIDE THE UK HAD TO HAVE ADDITIONAL STAMPS AFFIXED, WHEN IT WAS POSTED IN THE INTERNATIONAL SYSTEM I REGRET THAT I AM UNABLE TO CONFIRM THAT ALL ARE GENUINE, BUT THEY WERE PURCHASED FROM RELIABLE SOURCES.
