I had this quite awhile before I even noticed it This Pedestal Compote with Lid was made in 1876 by Gillinder & Sons to commemorate the very First Centennial of the U.S. With a frosted Lion Head serving as a handle for the lid and 3 Lion Heads circling the base plus 2 Lions Heads in the frosted base of smaller bowl The smaller bowl has beading around the rim so I would doubt if it was ever designed to habe a cover ** **I wrap very carefully!
