Description: Here for the American Girl Doll collector is a beautiful CLASSIC Pre-Mattel American Girl Doll Samantha--in EXCELLENT gently cared for condition! She is from the early 1990s and comes in her original white silhouette Pleasant Company box with the "Meet Samantha" brochure and hand tag that reads "Doll made in Germany." No book; however, I can provide a book if you desire. The lettering "Pleasant Company" and the copyright sign are stamped on the back of her neck and the artist mark is visible behind her right ear. White neck strings are intact. Tan cloth body is the earlier chubbier version and is very clean. She has no marks or stains that I can see. She holds a pose and stands on her own. Long dark brown hair shiny soft and held in place by her original hair bow. Her hair is gorgeous and cascades down her back in original curls and waves. Facial color is lovely with a soft blush to her cheeks and lips. She comes wearing her meet outfit: meet dress tagged Made in West Germany 1986 for Pleasant Company, white underpants, black ribbed stockings and black Mary Jane shoes. Some loss of elasticity noted to underpants and tights due to aging. Her box has shelf wear noted, a significant tear on the corner (see photos). A beautiful Samantha!
