Description: While recently attending the 2024 Las Vegas International Pipe Show, I spotted this rare (1960's) Comoy's "Exceptional" bent Apple, on display in its own original Comoy's box. Indeed I had heard of the Exceptional, but had never seen one up close...until now. And I was not going to leave that table without it. According to the seller, the Exceptional line pipes were hand carved for Comoy's by Horace Jameson, who had also carved for Barling and GBD. I also discovered that information on this elusive beauty is limited because it is so rare...and most of them are now in the hands of collectors. I had seen enough however....this baby was coming home with me. It features an array of stunning grain and a braided accent carved around the bowl just below the waist line. The pipe is also a sitter, allowing it to be placed on a desk or table with the button well above any surfaces. And of course, the legendary 3-piece "C" graces the bent saddle stem. This Comoy's Exceptional appears to have been smoked maybe 2 or 3 times, leaving very little signs of use. Truly a collector's dream, this beauty comes with what I believe is the original box.
