Description: Up for sale is this Corgi Forward March British Paratroopers Set US59010 1/50 LImited Numbered 1146. In June 1940, the British airborne were established when Winston Churchill called for the formation of 'a corp. of at least 5,000 parachute troops, suitably organized and equipped'. From this thought , the British airborne forces grew from battalion to regimental airborne forces grew from battalion to regimental strength, in which paratroop drops were conducted in Africa, Greece, Italy and in France on D-Day, June 6th 1944, Normandy, and continuing on culminating in the largest airborne attack in history with the British First Airborne Division in the battle at Arnhem. These figures are made to go with the existing range of World War II Corgi vehicles. This set of figures is in new condition, stored with care in the original, foam-lined packaging.
