Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features an Edward M. Crandal patent, dated November 28, 1876. This wire is called Crandal's Half Wrap End Link Two Point Wire" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 868-B). This wire features a succession of links to make the wire. Barbs are two pointed made by crossing ends over or making a one half wrap at end of link. Wire sample shows light pitting. Sample is 18" in length and has four full links. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. There are no broken, or missing barbing points.
