Custom Lamp Made w/ Antique Chinese Porcelain Elephant Joss Stick Holder

Description: For Parts or Repair ONLY. Not a working lamp. This is a vintage lamp that appears to be custom made out of an older, probably 20th century, Chinese import porcelain elephant joss sticks holder. There is a number and a Chinese character signature/marking pressed into the porcelain on one of the underside surfaces of the elephant (see photos). It seems to be a one-of-a-kind, unique item. I can find references to the antique elephant joss sticks holder, and to other similar antique elephant joss sticks holders, but none to a lamp. The lamp is not working, however. There is a single wire protruding from the socket (which I think may just be glued into place rather than actually passing through to the interior), as if to imitate a candle - perhaps somebody modified it to look this way to use it as a decorative statue rather than a lamp? The socket/socket holder is held in place with old, crumbly plaster. It can be rotated (and it feels like it is attached to wires inside), but this causes more plaster crumbling. In order to open the lamp and access the back of the socket or the interior wires, the plaster may just have to be allowed to crumble and then replaced and re-painted. The wire and in-line switch are both untested, and the plug has exposed wires around the prongs (see photos). The porcelain elephant has broken tusks, with spots of a lumpy orange material on them that may be from a past repair. The elephant also has some lines of crazing in the glaze. The entire lamp is dusty and needs cleaning. I have not attempted to clean it myself because of the antique paint. Total dimensions are approx. 12.5 inches tall, including the socket but not including the wire that sticks up, 9.5 inches long at the base, and 5.75 inches wide at the base. It weighs about 5 lbs (the shipping weight will be heavier because of padding).
