This display is showcasing a Walnut sphinx Moth nicely surrounded by preserved fern, flowers, moss, wood and a real snail and ladybug. Very nice addition to any collection! This display is approx 4 x 2 1/2". species:Walnut sphinx Amorpha JuglandisAmorpha juglandis, the walnut sphinx, is the only species in the monotypic moth genus Amorpha, which is in the family Sphingidae, erected by Jacob Hübner in 1809. The species was first described by James Edward Smith in 1797 NOTE: If your item is in a glass dome please be aware that the domes are NOT permanently connected to the base. Care has to be taken when opening or removing the dome so not to damage the display or specimen. If you are purchasing one of my Victorian displays and are familiar with Antique Victorian displays, you are aware of that they have usually fallen into disarray and disintegrated to the point that they no longer show well. My displays mimic the antique look without everything being washed out and tattered due to extreme age. When purchasing this item you are agreeing to the following: No claims for small broken parts such as antennae or a detached wing, antennae are so fragile that they cannot be guaranteed in shipping. Wings and other small parts are easily fixable and you should be aware that you may have to fix (glue) a part when purchasing items like these. These are natural specimens and can contain a flaw or two like a shorter antenna or broken or missing leg. We do our best to make sure they are close to perfect but a few might get by us although usually the flaw is minor and something that does not deflect from the beauty of the insect itself. I rarely have a problem but even with good packaging it is impossible for us to Guarantee that specimens will arrive totally intact although I have had very few problems to date. If you pay for Priority mail your items will be covered by postal insurance which will cover any damage in shipping-First class does not cover damage as it is not insured. The post office does now require you to bring the item in for inspection to receive postal insurance payouts. Your refund/discount will be processed once the item is presented at the post office.
