Description: This Carte de Visite photograph features a portrait of a Danish soldier. He is holding white gloves in his left hand. The soldier's cap has the number "17" on it's front. This is likely the number assigned to his unit. This photograph was taken by Balduin Evald Valdemar Sild (1867-1907). He operated a studio in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was partners with his brother, Andreas Alfred Marius Sild (1860-after 1930). The pair were active in Copenhagen between 1897 and 1915. They had a studio together from 1897-1902, and then Balduin continued his photography career until about 1905. Balduin's studio was near the Solvgades Barracks and as a result, he took many portraits of Danish soldiers. This cdv portrait is in good condition (see scans). .
