After I have evaluated your drive, I will contact you with details regarding the state of your data and what can be done to recover it. If, after evaluation, we (you and I together) decide not to continue, your drive will be returned to you for no additional charge. $60 is my standard recovery fee for hard drives $20 is my standard recovery fee for memory cards and floppy disks We'll discuss how to get your files to you after we know what is possible. If you need new media, I have many reasonably priced options like used external drives and SD cards. I generally destroy any drives that are no longer usable, once I know that you are satisfied with your results, but I can return it if you desire. I have over 20 years of experience as a software IT professional, and this is where my expertise is. I will likely decline your case if your symptoms involve a hard drive that is clicking or grinding, or a memory card that is completely unresponsive, as that indicates a physical problem--let me know the situation, and I'll point you in the right direction. Most data loss situations aren't this drastic, so chances are I can help. I run a one-man operation here, and I do it because I enjoy the challenge, and I'm good at it--it's not my day job (I'm a computer scientist and Certified Information Systems Security Professional/Certified Ethical Hacker performing cyber security for a large organization). Because it's just me, there is no team of techs to blame for a breach in confidentiality--only me--and I am not prudish, judgmental, or foolish. I guarantee all your data will remain completely confidential. All my prices are negotiable (both ways!), but my prices are more than fair. If you have an unusually large or time consuming (or simple/small) recovery, I reserve the right to adjust prices a bit (like +/- $30), but you'll know before you commit to anything. If you desire--and are willing to pay for--additional services, for example, recovering data from a laptop and then reinstalling the operating system, all necessary drivers, and your user data, I can do that--we'll talk.
