Description: Item : This delightful batik on silk painting was done by California artist Sandra Grassi Nelipovich. Sandra creates batiks in the traditional manner by dipping each piece in dye between waxing. Her intricate designs and colors are created through a long process of numerous dye baths and waxings. After a piece is finished the wax is ironed off and the finished piece is mounted on acid-free museum board and matted. All of her batiks are one of a kind. This batik is signed in the lower right. It is also signed on the back and titled, "Love in Flower" and dated 1979. The batik silk measures 9 1/2" by 7 3/8" and with mat it measures 16" by 13". It will be shipped in its archival quality clear envelope between thick flat cardboard. This painting is in excellent condition. Sandra's achievements are numerous. She designed and executed a batik fabric for fashion designer Barbara Jax's collection. She also created illustrations for Jolly Robin Press, Music Publisher and her batik art has been used by the American Speech Language Hearing Association for the covers of their 2008 quarterly publications.Sandra has exhibited in galleries and shows in Northern and Southern California, Arizona, Hawaii, Illinois, and New Jersey and has won numerous awards for her work. She also has her batiks in many collections, including McDonald's Corporate Headquarters, school systems and library systems. She is listed in Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in California and Who's Who of American Women.
