Description: Lady Chatterley's Lover, by D.H. Lawrence. Title page states "Privately Printed, Florence, Italy, 1928". However, this is most likely a pirated edition printed by Lawton Kennedy in San Francisco. Most likely dates are late 1920s to very early 1930s. 307 pages. 9-3/4" X 6-1/2". Plain, dark grayish lavender cloth boards with no lettering are unworn but for rubs at the top spine tips. Cloth is toned around the edges and on spine. Hinges are intact and binding is tight. Pages are rough-cut. They are clean except for foxing on rear endpapers and in the top margins of the last two text pages. What's interesting about this edition, is that there are four b&w illustrations, as well as another small one on the title page. A mylar cover is included.
