Description: Dick Hyman on the Moog Synthesizer: A. Strobo B. Lay, Lady Lay White Label Promo Copy released in 1969 on ABC Records' Command label. Wicked rad record! TEST PLAYED: This record is unquestionably beat up - probably worse than it looks in the pictures. That said, I think because it's played on a piercing amped-up moog, you don't really notice it during play. Sure I heard lots of static, pops and clicks when I set the needle down... but after that, I'm not sure I heard anything but the groovy tunes. Certainly no skips or jumps. Rough, dirty labels with writing as shown in the photos. New clean plain white sleeve and plastic slipcover. Ships in a cardboard mailer via USPS Media Mail. Any additional 45s ship free. Dazzlingly ahead of its time drum break sampling goldmine. Futuristic A-side original with a dense rhythm played by the Maestro Rhythm Unit, a primitive drum machine, then fed through an Echoplex. Proto-Techno with a glimpse of Drum 'n' Bass within its skittering beat. Flipside presents a wildly weird instrumental version of Bob Dylan's very recent "Lay, Lady, Lay" - released just a few months before on Nashville Skyline.
