They don't look like much, but these little cranks are a hidden gem. If you fish shallow flats and need to cover a lot of water quickly, or if you can't get schooling fish to commit to topwater lures, this is your new secret weapon. These can be "waked" slowly just under the surface, but by far the best retrieve is a brisk constant retrieve or "burning" it around shallow cover, scattered pads, or above submerged grass. Even when reeling fast, it will dive less than a foot deep. High pitched rattles are the icing on the cake - the fleeing bait fish sounds really trigger the fish to bite.
