Description: This limited edition Olszewski figurine depicts Alice in Wonderland in a scene with the Cheshire Cat where she is lost and trying to decide which way to go. The intricately crafted piece stands at almost 4 inches tall and is part of a limited edition of only 1500 pieces, making it a unique and valuable item for collectors and fans alike. The figurine is 3.5 x 3.375 x 2.375 inches and comes in its original box with its original packaging and a Certificate of Authenticity. It is part of a limited edition of only 1500 made worldwide. This is such a cute and colorful box, with a very funny version of the Cheshire Cat sitting front and center on a handy tree branch. Alice stands in front of him wondering what to do next. I've included a picture of Alice as seen through the trees in the back of the piece. It's a cool shot and one of the only ways you can see all of Alice's face. It would make a wonderful addition to anyone's Alice or Disney collection. NOTE: THERE IS A SMALL CRACK ON IT. I never noticed this before, but when I was taking pictures for this auction, I noticed a small hairline crack on the right side of the piece. It is somewhat hidden and you don't really see it until you look closely. I'm not sure how this occurred, but I'm guessing it's a manufacturer flaw. It wasn't there when I purchased it, but over time, it appears that the piece separated somehow. I couldn't create that crack. It had to be organic to the piece. (Maybe it happened during our recent New Jersey earthquake, cause as I said, I've never seen it before.) I'm sure a crafty person could easily fix the flaw with some kind of filler agent or maybe just clear glue. The storage box is in very good shape. The lip of the lid is slightly worn, and the sticker on the top that shows the name of the piece is somewhat faded. But other than that, it looks very good. Here's a little about Alice in Wonderland I found on Wikipedia: Alice in Wonderland is a 1951 American animated musical fantasy comedy film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures. It is based on Lewis Carroll's 1865 novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its 1871 sequel Through the Looking-Glass. The production was supervised by Ben Sharpsteen, and was directed by Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson, and Hamilton Luske. With the voices of Kathryn Beaumont, Ed Wynn, Richard Haydn, Sterling Holloway, Jerry Colonna, Verna Felton, J. Pat O'Malley, Bill Thompson, and Heather Angel, the film follows a young girl Alice who falls down a rabbit hole to enter a nonsensical world Wonderland that is ruled by the Queen of Hearts, while encountering strange creatures, including the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat. Here's a little info I found out about Robert Olszewski I found on his website: Robert William Olszewski (pronounced ol-shes-ski) has established himself as a major influence in the creation and production of miniature figurative art. Robert Olszewski began his art career first as a painter and as an art teacher who evolved to become a world known miniature figurative artist, sculptor, and architect. In 1977, his first serious miniature figurative works were sculpted to accessorize a doll house that he built for his daughter, Meredith. Over a 30-year career, Olszewski’s miniature work continues to evolve, and he has created a body of work that is collected worldwide.
