They are good general purpose valves that can be used in systems that require in excess of 2 PSI. This occurs sometimes in larger installations with exceptionally long runs. Dole recommends setting the pressure controls for an "OFF" setting of 5 PSI maximum and an "ON" setting of 2 PSI. It is imperative that this low point be reached in each firing cycle. The 1933 series is also recommended for hand fired installation. They also have a special construction to minimize "spitting".The Dole 1933 is a recommended replacement for the following valves. · Vent-Rite 51This valve will function similarly to the competitor's models but may differ in appearance and features.
