Description: DOROTHEA WIGHT (British 1944-2013) Window with Blind Mezzotint on paper, artists' proof, signed, titled and marked A/P.Framed under glass. Born in Devon, Dorothea Wight studied fine art at Dartington College of Art (1963–64). She moved to London to study painting at the Slade School of Fine Art (1964–68), then establishing her workshop STUDIO PRINTS in Kentish Town which she ran with her husband Marc Balakjiran from 1974 to 2011. She was an influential teacher, teaching printmaking in various art schools including The Royal College of Art, Cambridge School of Art, and Brighton School of Art, and establishing the etching department at the Camden Institute in London (Holmes Rd). Her work has been exhibited extensively in the UK and Europe and is included in the collections of the British Council, Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, University of British Columbia, and the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. Dimensions: Image size 15.2 cm x 13.1 cm, Frame size 33.5 cm x 28.5 cm.Condition:The printed image and sheet is in excellent condition free of damage, marks or stains. The frame is in excellent condition with minor signs of wear. There is a small mark to the glass as pictured.
