Weathering on track links. History - In February 1945, eight Panzer divisions with 271 Panthers were transferred from the West to the Eastern Front. Only five Panther battalions remained in the West. Panzer Division Muncheberg formed in March 1945 and received several Panther G tanks equipped with Sperber infrared systems. Their strength was bolstered by an infantry battalion of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler Division. They battled to reopen the Kustrin Corridor in late March but were unsuccessful. In mid-April the Soviets launched an offensive across the Alte Oder to capture Berlin. From this date onward, Muncheberg was in constant combat (with the 11th Panzergrenadier Division Nordland) and fell back into Berlin itself.
