Alain Pino Hernández. Cuban draftsman, painter, photographer and sculptor. Member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC). Hernández was born in 1974 in Camaguey, Cuba. He graduated from the Professional School of Art, Havana, Cuba in 1994. Later, he completed his higher studies at the Higher Institute of Art, Havana, Cuba, graduating in 1999Hernández's works, inspired by the environment, often convey a strong political or social message. The themes he addresses in these works are usually linked to immigration problems, as illustrated by his series entitled "Time passes." Hernández expresses his style through the use of different media such as photography, painting, as well as unusual elements such as glass, clay or industrial materials. The Perimeter sculpture illustrates this type of media combination, depicting a silver missile that rotates from side to side depending on the movement of people detected by a motion sensor.
