Drimia platyphylla seedling, South African Bulb Plant

Description: First described as the Rhadamanthus platyphyllus, before being likely lumped into the Drimia genus, this small South African bulb is allied with some of the smallest bulb-forming plants in the world, is rather recently described only a decade ago...and has very little information about it all around. Slightly damp, well-drained gravelly soils do well for them, and they form flat semi-succulent pairs of leaves on the surface. Flower stalks are thick and sport several delicate whitish or yellowish blooms, before going dormant during the summer dry season.Available plants are between 1-2.5 inches in diameter, with bulbs 0.5-1 inch in length. Plants are shipped bare-root wrapped in a moist paper towel, via USPS Priority mail; I typically ship Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend hold-overs. US shipping only. Many are grown in high humidity conditions and may require acclimation, unless otherwise noted.
