IMPORTANT INFORMATION Tropical roaches like Dubia are fragile! Please read the following to maximize the chance of live arrival in hot or cold weather. We overstock orders around 10%, but this will not protect against loss in extreme weather. How to maximize live arrival: 1. Your temperature is between 40°F and 80°F: No need to do anything special. 2. Your temperature is below 40°F or above 80°F: Please select a post office hold for pickup and/or a heat or cold pack. You can expect DOAs if you do not take measures to assure live arrival in these conditions. Please see instructions below for shipping in hot or cold weather. These things are important. Please take these steps to ensure your roaches survive shipping. A post office hold is free and means instead of delivering the package to your home, it is delivered to your local post office where you can pick it up. Buying Dubia and other tropical feeder roaches involves risk, but these risks can be mitigated. We do everything we can on our end, but there are things you may need to do on your end. These include being aware of your weather forecast and choosing the right shipping options. INSTRUCTIONS When it's hot (above 80°F): A post office hold is best. A cold pack is second. The main cause of loss by far is (a) being out for delivery all day in the heat and (b) being left in a hot location (mail box, porch). If you avoid these two things, you avoid 90% of the risk. Please at least select a post office hold if it is hot in your city. When it's cold (below 40°F but particularly below freezing): A post office hold with heat pack is best, but it depends how cold it is. When it's very cold (near or below freezing), losses are usually caused by (a) sitting in a mailbox, uncollected, with no heat pack or (b) being out for delivery all day with no heat pack. If it's 40°F, for example, you might get away with all of these things. If it's 20°F, you probably won't get away with any of them. Please at least select a post office hold if it is cold in your city, and also get a heat pack if it is below freezing. LIVE ARRIVAL ISSUES Please send us a message if there is a problem with your order and we'll see what we can do to fix it! For live arrival issues, please contact us within a few hours of delivery and include photos of all the roaches to confirm their condition. You can attach photos to ebay messages. If you do this and you followed our shipping instructions, we can discuss refund or replacement. If you did not follow our instructions, we still may be able to help so please contact us. NOTE: We do not ship Dubia roaches to Hawaii or Florida. These states have special rules about what residents can bring into the state.
