The Led has a current limiting device, so the it only takes 5ma max when lit. It will flash for many months ( dependant on quality and power rating of the battery) The battery box has an on / off slide switch and requires 2 x AA size batteries. Used to indicate that an alarm is armed, (although there is not one fitted).
