Description: Offered for your consideration is a lovely clear glass open compote made by the Belmont Glass Works (1866-1890) in their number 3 "Ware" pattern. Commonly called "Dart", this pattern was introduced circa 1881. The compote measures 7.25 inches (18.4 cm) in over all diameter, inner rim diameter is 6.5 inches (16.5 cm), and compote is 6.75 inches (17.1 cm) tall to top of rim. The open compote is in excellent used condition with no cracks, chips, roughness, nor repairs. There are few light surface scratches, tiny nicks, and minor wear on bowl and bottom of base, see photos. Compote is used so there may be additional indications of use. The glass is bright and clear with no cloudiness, discoloration, nor noticeable lime scale present. There may be bubbles, a shear (straw) mark, and other minor imperfections within the glass due to the manufacturing process used at the time.
