Description: Offered for your consideration is a lovely clear glass compote made by Bryce, Higbee and Company (1879-1907) in their "Yale" pattern. Also known as "Fan Band" or "Scalloped Flower Band", this pattern was introduced in 1887. The compote features an engraved fern leaf and stem design. The compote measures 6.25 inches (15.9 cm) in diameter at inside rim, 7 inches (17.8 cm) overall diameter, and is 5.25 inches (13.3 cm) tall. This open compote is in excellent used condition with no cracks, chips, noticeable roughness, nor repairs. There are light surface scratches. Compote may originally have have had a lid. Compote is used so there may be minimal wear or other indications of use. See photos. The glass is bright and clear with no cloudiness, discoloration, nor lime scale present. There may be bubbles, a shear (straw) mark, and other minor imperfections within the glass due to the glass making process used at the time.
