Description: Up for sale a very old cast iron Great Northern RR spike hammer head from the early 1900's. It measures 9.5" long and just over 2" wide. It probably was 10" long at one time but this old girl has pounded a lot of railroad spikes in her day so she's a little shorter in her old age. It has "GN" for Great Northern in raised letters on one side along with what I'm guessing is a serial or part number that looks like "S 1561". Weighs in at a hefty 5 1/4lbs! No handle obviously but still makes a great display piece - very nice rusted patina as you can see in the photos!
