Description: Since 1958 the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company (now MeadWestvaco) has published a limited edition book each Christmas. The books display papers and other products made by this company and show inventive design and typography. This is a copy of the 1964 book - four "Tales" by Edgar Allan Poe, bound in 1/4 leather with "POE" embossed on the cover. The four stories were printed on different papers. "The Purloined Letter" was printed sideways, as if the reader holds a folded letter in his hand. This copy is in excellent condition but for the surface cracking of the leather at the point where the the cover meets the spine (called the "Joint" or "French Joint"). The slipcase has a half-inch repaired tear at the top. Mailing from Florida.
