EDWIGE FEUILLERE - AUTOGRAPHED INSCRIBED PHOTOGRAPH 01/1950 - HFSID 289430 EDWIGE FEUILLRE Glamorous image in lacy collar and pearl earrings, inscribed in person to collector Saul Goodman Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Saul/Best wishes/Edwige Feuillere/January 1950)". B/w, 8x10. Collector's ink note on verso specifies exact signature date: January, 1950. French actress Edwige Feuillre (1907-1998, born in Vesoul) could switch easily between roles of sophisticated ladies and cruel seductresses. Feuillre learned acting at the Dijon Conservatoire and got her start under the name Cora Lynn in1930, playing small roles in theatre. She made her film debut in 1931 and, by the mid-1940s, was a distinguished and well-respected actress. Feuillre is especially known for her role as the Queen in Jean Cocteau's The Eagle with Two Heads (1948), a role that Cocteau wrote for her. Beloved in France, she never appeared in an English language film. Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York business man by day, pursued his love of film and theatre in the evening, making friends with many celebrities. While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Corners worn and creased. Lightly toned around edges. paper clipping on verso. Otherwise, Fine condition. See more material from these signers: EDWIGE FEUILLERE See more listings in our ACTORS & ACTRESSES (12,502) category.
