Edwin Lefèvre (1871–1943) was an American journalist, writer, and diplomat, who is most noted for his writings on Wall Street business. Of the eight books written by Edwin Lefèvre, his Reminiscences of a Stock Operator is considered a classic of American business writing. The book began as a series of twelve articles published during 1922 and 1923 in The Saturday Evening Post. It is written as first-person fiction, telling the story of a professional stock trader on Wall Street. While published as fiction, generally, it is accepted to be the biography of stock market whiz, Jesse Livermore. Jesse Lauriston Livermore (July 26, 1877 – November 28, 1940) was an American stock trader. He is considered a pioneer of day trading. At one time, Livermore was one of the richest people in the world; however, at the time of his death, he had liabilities greater than his assets. The book is in FINE antiquarian condition. Square spine, firm hinges and joints and tight pages. Colorful, unfaded, clean boards. Unrubbed spine with all gilt shiny and intact. Minimal rubbing to extremities. Age-toned edges. Interior is beautiful, too. Clean, bright pages with a touch of age toning and with no writing or foxing. Minimal signs of finger handling. Former owner bookplate on front flyleaf.
