Our custom tuned antennas have greatly improved communications for all business, commercial, industrial, fire, government, public safety, police, and rescue radio users who operate in the shared 700-800 MHz radio bands. The EFK78 stubby antenna is only 2.3 inches tall with a final height tolerance of plus or minus 0.125 of an inch. The antenna covering is made of black flexible PVC, the short bottom weather skirt protects the RF connection on the radio housing, and the antenna RF connection is a SMA female type connector with a recessed center insulator needed for the JVC Kenwood Viking portable radios. We silver solder all reworked internal antenna connections. The side of the antenna will have a small green color dot to signify it is tuned for the 769-870 MHz frequency range. The retuning of the antenna achieves a minimum signal gain of up to +3 dB that will effectively double your transmit and receive signal power due to the very low VSWR and excellent 50 ohm impedance match as compared to any untuned antenna. Our retuning also allows for a much smaller antenna height without any loss of performance by eliminating all of the unused space inside the antenna covering. Your antenna will have a final VSWR of 1.5:1 or less across the advertised frequency range for TRUE high performance FM narrowband Analog, Trunking, Conventional, P25 DIGITAL Phase I and II radio communications range.
