Description: Originating from a prestigious, estate sale, this petite vintage French carved oak hall bench is a charming and functional piece of furniture typically originating from France, often crafted in the late 19th to early 20th century. These benches are known for their intricate woodwork, compact size, and versatility in smaller spaces like entryways or hallways. This hall bench has a storage area under the seat that can be used for any number of items. There is some discoloration damage to one side of the bench and I have noted that in the pictures. The damage could be due to exposure to the weather. However, this damage adds to the vintage distressing of this piece. There are no makers markings on this bench, although it's origination can be quite well traced to Brittany due to the Celtic symbolism. I place the creation of this unique gem to early 20th century. The hallmark of these benches is their detailed carvings. Common motifs include floral patterns, scrolls, and often Celtic heritage elements. The carvings are often found on the backrest, arms, and legs, showcasing the craftsmanship typical of the period. Because this is a heavy piece of furniture, shipping is done by freight at the buyers expense. However, we can help find a freight carrier.
