Description: Maker: This lovely gravy boat with its underplate is by the legendary English china maker Cauldon. And it reflects that company's high quality: the craftsmanship is of a very high standard. The mark of Gilman Collamore, a high-end New York retailer of fine porcelain at the turn of the last century, appears on both pieces. Age: On the reverse of both pieces is the "Cauldon England" mark that was in use between 1905 and 1920. Cauldon became Royal Cauldon in 1920. It became part of Coalport in the 1960s and part of Wedgwood when Coalport was taken over. Design: This striking pattern features bold multicolored floral displays. A wonderful basketweave design outlines both pieces. The handwritten pattern number H7604 appears on the underplate. Condition: The set is in good condition for its age with no chips, cracks, scratches, marks, repairs or wear. There is a tiny nick on the edge of the gravy boat at the center of one side, and a small spot of missing gold at the center of one side of the under plate, which also has several tiny utensil marks. The bottom of the gravy boat has significant staining; it's shown in the photos. Size: The gravy boat is 7 inches long, measured between the far end of the handle and the tip of the spout. It is 2 5/8 inches wide at the opening and 3 inches tall, measured at the tip of the spout. The underplate is 5 1/4 inches wide and 8 1/2 inches long. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are part of the description.
