Description: This large chiming wall or mantle clock is marked on the brass clockworks "Elgin Clock Division, Elgin National Watch Co., Made in West Germany". The interior of the back panel is marked Copyright 1972, Paragon Designs Inc. and the face is also marked Paragon. The key is not present, but I was able to determine with a universal key that only one of the three winding holes can be turned, apparently the others are over wound. While I was weighing the clock, it started to chime very nicely, so that part of the clock does work. The clock is 30-1/2 inches high to the center finial by about 14 inches wide across the base. The case is wood but the front moldings appear to be woodgrain hard plastic or a resin material. The only cosmetic issue is a thin line of waxy or rubber cement like substance across the bottom panel where it connects to the base, which does scrape off. The clock is priced for parts or restoration, taking into account the shipping size and weight.
