Description: Rare vintage hardback with hard to find original dustwrapper. Published by Brockhampton Press in 1959, later impression of first edition. Lovely illustrations by Eileen Soper, best known for illustrating the Famous Five books. BOOK CONDITION - REASONABLE DUSTWRAPPER CONDITION - REASONABLE to FAIRLY GOOD Orange boards have some fading and browning/foxing. Slight bumping on corners. Spine has a crease and a lean. Binding intact, although has lost its initial tightness. Inscription in pencil on first blank end paper. Pages have some tanning and a fair bit of foxing, though it is mainly on the page edges. Pages are all intact. Dustwrapper has a price-clip and a few small chips and nicks. It is however largely complete. Has some creasing and general edge-wear and a few tears have been neatly repaired on the underside. Mark left on front from removal of a price-label. There is a faint old tape mark on front fold and the underside has some writing. The wrapper is quite browned, mainly on spine and back. Front artwork is colourful and attractive.
