Epiphyllum 'Gay Mood' Rooted Cutting

Description: Epiphyllum 'Gay Mood' ''Gay Mood' is a very rare Fort and O'Barr hybrid that was introduced around 1955. The distinct and colorful flowers have inner petals that are dark raspberry pink with lighter midstripes and distinct marbling, and a bright green eye in the throat. The second row of petals are the same color, only lighter, and the outer petals are even lighter with yellow midstripes. The flowers are quite attractive and unusual, and are born on plants which may become substantial with age. The large flowers have a cup and saucer form on plants with thick, flat upright and basket growth. Of unknown parentage, this rarity deserves much more attention. Other than the vendor from whom I bought my original cuttings, nearly 40 years ago, I have never seen another seller offer this rarity. This offering is for one well-rooted and established cutting, with new growth showing or beginning to show, in a 3 1/4" pot - similar to what may be seen in the photos. These are not full plants but, rather, smaller, well-rooted cuttings that are just beginning to show signs of new growth, or new growth is already developing. If you don't want to have to wait for a cutting to root, this will save you a few steps and time. The young plant you will receive is healthy and true to name (and may show a few nicks and dings).
