COFFEE TABLE BOOK OF ERTE'S ART DECO CREATIONS PLUS A BRONZE BAS RELIEF OF "RIGOLETTO" 333158316102 Please read carefully as I have tried to describe the piece to the fullest extent possible! (It must be a good description, since a couple other sellers with this limited edition piece have lifted this researched description verbatim for their listings!) :-) This piece has three elements: 1. a bronze bas relief, 2. a full color "Erte at 95" book that is signed, numbered, and bound in black leather, and 3. a presentation box which has protected its contents for nearly 30 years. The box has minor typical shelf wear as would be expected. Erte Collectors Book: Erte at 95: The Complete New Graphics, The Extended Edition. Limited to 375 copies. This is a Limited Edition book, each book is hand signed and numbered by the artist: numbered 238/375, plus 37 artist proofs (412 total), edition date 1988. 223 Pages all in color of Erte’s works of art. Incredibly beautiful edition with an introduction by Erte, Hand-signed by Erte. Book contains reproductions of 27 New Erte Prints in Addition to the Original Text and Reproductions. Bound in Black Leather, Stamped in Gold, Published by Chalk & Vermillion, Excellent Condition The only observed defect is some small tearing of paper in the flex of an inside cover - see picture. Everything else seems to be in fine shape, no other problems. Title of the bronze on cover: Rigoletto Signed Bronze Plaque on Front Cover with incised edition number7” x 8” x 3/8”, © 1988 Chalk and Vermilion and Sevenarts 333158316102 The Erte Bronze Rigoletto Bas Relief is silver, black and bronze with white gold leaf. "Rigoletto" was inspired by a costume design for the opera singer Ganna Walska as Gilda in a 1920 production of Rigoletto. This image was inspired by a gouache in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Bas Relief is detachable from the book. The bronze bas relief has been attached to it with velcro. Simply pull the bronze sculpture from the sides evenly. You can display the bronze bas-relief sculpture, a real prize and very hard to find after all this time. Only 350 were made, as well as a small number of artist’s proofs and each is individually incised with its unique number in the bronze itself. The sculpture is just gorgeous. The bronze bas relief has been specially finished with sealants that do not require any cleaning with cleaning agents. Use a soft cloth to bring up the luster or remove any dirt or fingerprints that may accumulate over time.
