Description: EUGENE O'NEIL & Blemie (Dog) - Vintage Photograph Eatons Neck, Long Island by C.M. O'Neill This is a pretty well known photo of O'Neill and his dog. According to the web page for an exhibition of a collection of O'Neill's work at Washington University in St. Louis last year, the photographer is unknown. The inscription on the back says, "C.M. O'Neill" is the photographer. That's Carlotta Monterey O'Neill, his wife. With a little further digging, I matched the handwriting to Carlotta's with the various notes and letters freely available on the internet.I am not a handwriting expert, but it is clearly her writing. Inscribed:Eugene O'Neill & "Blemie"--Eaton's Neck - Long Island--summer 1931 (photograph by C.M O'Neill)copyrighted 6 3/4'' x 4 5/8'' See pics for condition. The photos were taken with the photo in plastic so there is some reflection. It's in there pretty tightly and didn't want to risk damaging it pulling it out. The photo is in good condition. There is some tape on the bottom and side but on the plastic covering.
