Description: Captain Everett Richard Cook [1894 1974] was an American ace fighter pilot who enlisted in the United States Air Service in 1917 and was assigned to the 91st Aero Squadron and was credited with [5] five confirmed aerial victories. In September of 1918, he was appointed as commander of the 91st Aero Squadron and was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, Legion of Merit, French Legion and Croix de Guerre for his actions and leadership during the war. After the war he served on the staff of general Billy Mitchell and during World War II, he served as the Chief of Staff for General Spaatz and was promoted to Brigadier General. Listed for auction is a [TLS] typed letter signed by Everett Richard Cook. The letter is a application for the Association of Fighter Aces and contains questions about his military career, such as his combat theatre of operations, aerial victories, etc, and is signed ''Everett R. Cook'' in blue fountain pen. The letter measures 8.00 x 10.00 inches, it has some trivial edge wear otherwise it is in fine condition.
