Description: This surgical simulator ?Marty? is used to practice eye surgery techniques before moving on to real patients. The head is a heavy moulded resin type material with a system on the back that screws off the eye plate. The plate holds two practice eyes that you would then add collagen corneas providing a wide range of practice scenarios . The phantom can accept human eyes and in abstracts on PubMed some students found it helpful to simulate this way. During development they creator wanted it to have retracted eye lids so eyes bulged hence the name Marty was given to the simulator after the British actor Marty Feldman. In the photo set you can see a real eye in place (the black and white photo). This phantom comes with its original carrying case, head, eye plate, hose, and two practice eyes. This is another great piece for a medical reference library and makes a nice piece in the development of surgical phantom history. *prosthetic eyes in picture 1,2 and 4 are for reference only
