The spoons are made in a classic design, with rounded, downturned terminals and a drop heel to the back of the bowl. Each spoon has a monogram of MV in flowing script. This set is in excellent overall condition. There is some minor surface wear andoccasional dings, but nothing significant, especially considering the age.There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs. Each spoon is stamped with the maker's mark for Joseph Shoemaker, a well known early American silversmith working out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
