The boots have had the below the knee security straps cut off..this is generally done on these boots. These $$ boots are traditionally used on classy top-notch Trotters/Pacers because they make no smacking noise when your horse brushes his knees. (horses grow to like the smacking) And Because they are white, you can see when & exactly where the knees are brushed or nicked. They are kind & VERY protective of your horses knees. When they are used in conjunction with suspenders... you CAN FORGET worrying about them falling down during a race and theres no need to constantly tape them. The suspenders also allow the boots to be installed a little looser because of the added security. I have included my custom mixed-up a container of Oatmeal & cornstarch to keep them nice clean & white. This pair of boots comes with an old set of FREE suspenders, which you will probably wish to replace also at Big Dees for $32.95....Featherweight Knee/Arm Boots are still sold at Big Dees: $210. You may want to line them with neoprene but I never needed to. Quality Boots at a good price.
