Fender *David Gilmour/Pink Floyd "BLACK STRATOCASTER" Squier Classic Vibe *LOOK!

This is a 2024 Fender Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster that's been modified to resemble "DAVID GILMOUR of PINK FLOYD" infamous "BLACK STRATOCASTER". It isn't exactly like, nor was it intended to be an exact replica of David Gilmour's vintage Black Stratocaster, as his has quite a bit of play wear and this one is in like new condition.Full 1-3/4" thick solid Poplar Body with a gloss Black finish. Electronics are original to the Body except for the Bridge Pickup. Middle and Neck Pickups are the original Fender designed Alnico V Magnet Single-Coil Pickups. I installed a Fender designed Ceramic Single-Coil Pickup in the Bridge position, because I personally feel a Ceramic Single-Coil has the brighter, hotter tone that sounds better for the Bridge position than an Alnico. All Pickups provide classic Stratocaster tones, strong output and sound fantastic! Original 3-ply Black/White/Black Pickguard was replaced with a "Single-Ply" Black Pickguard like Gilmour's. Has White Pickup Covers, Knobs, Switch & Tremolo Tips, again, like Gilmour's. *NOTE: A Mini-Toggle-Switch was installed, like Gilmour's "Black Strat" has. It functions as an on/off switch for the Neck Pickup, so the Neck Pickup can be activated when the 5-way Switch is in position 1 or 2. When activated Position 1 =Bridge & Neck Pickups, Position 2 =All Three Pickups! This is the "Gilmour Mod", that provides 7 Pickup selections! When not activated, the 5-way Switch operates as normal. Has a vintage style Tremolo Bridge with bent-steel Saddles and the Tremolo Arm (whammy-bar) has been shortened to 4.5 inches like Gilmour's Black Strat. The Squier logo Neck Plate was replaced with a Fender logo Neck-Plate. *Note that this Guitar of course wasn't made in Corona California, it's just the Plate I chose to use, to replace the Squier engraved Plate. Has a 21 medium Fret Maple Fretboard with a very comfortable slim C-shape profile, 25.5" scale, 9.5" radius, 1-5/8" nut-width. To further improve playability, the Fretboard has been lightly sanded with a very fine grit, buffed, conditioned with lemon-oil, then thoroughly buffed again to make the Fretboard extremely smooth, better than it came from the manufacture and plays with ease! *I do this to almost all Guitars I sell, new & used and makes for a significant improvement in playability. Frets are perfect, have been polished so they're bright & slick and the Fret-Ends rounded to for a comfortable feel...no sharp Fret-Ends! Back of the Neck was also lightly sanded with a fine grit to remove a bit of the clear-coat finish, buffed, oiled, then meticulously buffed again. It's "silky-smooth" (and mean ULTRA SMOOTH), fast and plays fantastic! And it has a Rosewood Scunk-Stripe on the back, and Truss-Rod Plug like Fender USA & MIM Neck have. Headstock has a vintage style water-slide decal applied and the entire Headstock sealed with gloss Lacquer. Retains the serial number, showing this is a 2024 model. Original 2-pin sealed-gear Tuners replaced with a new set of quality vintage style Inline Tuners with split-shafts, for the correct vintage Gilmour Black Strat appearance.Strung up with a fresh set of quality D'Addario 10-46 Strings (the Brand most Pros use & the only Strings I use) and a complete set-up done including: truss-rod relief, low action, intonation & Pickup heights. Wonderful playing and sounding Strat with the retro appearance of "David Gilmour's infamous Fender Black Stratocaster" and is an affordable alternative! I'm not a professional Luthier, but well above an amateur & I'm "extremely meticulous"! If you're looking for this type of Guitar, think about if other Sellers work on Guitars (most don't) and know how to set them up. Is the Neck straight, Truss-Rod functional, Fretboard clean? Are the Frets oxidized needing cleaned & polished, have dead frets or buzz that requires the frets to be leveled? Will the Strings be rusty or dead, needing a new set? And if it's a used Guitar, I'm sure you've found they usually arrive dusty, needing cleaning and require major tweaking just to be playable! Not this one! Also, will other Seller's description be as thorough as mine? Remember that you get what you pay for! This being said, I must also note: The Neck is perfectly straight, and it plays great, but I can't predict how you like your Guitar set up, so be advised that adjustments or a set-up to your preference "may" be required, and if you can't do it yourself, the costs associated with these adjustments should be expected. Also note that Guitars are made of Wood, and when in transit to you, temperature changes and/or Delivery Service Handling can affect my initial set-up, that again may require adjustments on your end.
